\"\"<\/a>Consumers are visually stimulated and are more likely to notice images and videos on a website, rather than just reading the site.\u00a0 Most web users skim the text of a site but notice the images and will generally watch a short video clip.<\/p>\n

Effective Use of Images<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Images need to immediately capture the eyes and interest of your target market.\u00a0 You want to place the images prominently on your website and make sure they are large enough that your visitors can identify the contents of them.<\/p>\n

Consider your target market carefully when choosing images.\u00a0 The pictures should contain people, products and other images that your website audience can identify with.\u00a0 If your target is primarily female you want the images to be of females. If your target market is of a particular demographic, make sure the images include people from that demographic.<\/p>\n

NOTE: DO NOT replace website content with images.\u00a0 It is important to have content even if it is only skimmed.\u00a0 A serious buyer will take the time to read further.<\/p>\n

Videos<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

It is easier than ever before to add videos to a website.\u00a0 Videos are a powerful way to convey a message.\u00a0 The videos can be client testimonials, product demonstrations, service explanations, company profiles, or anything else you deem important.<\/p>\n

The videos can be hosted on a site like YouTube or you can host the videos directly on your server.\u00a0 YouTube hosting is acceptable, although slightly less professional than hosting the video on your site directly.<\/p>\n

Your videos should look good.\u00a0 Avoid poor camera work (use a tripod to hold your recording device), dark images, windows behind you and poor audio quality. Audio is just as important as the video. If your audio is crap, no one will watch your videos. Stay close to the microphone of whatever it is your recording on. Don’t set a camera or cell phone up 20 feet away from you and expect to get decent audio recorded. It won’t happen. The sound will be faint and have a lot of echo in it.<\/p>\n

A good video can be an effective way to impress people.\u00a0 A bad video is a fast way to lose the interest of someone on your website.<\/p>\n

Videos can be scripted but only if you are hiring professional actors.\u00a0 Videos tend to be much more effective (especially testimonial videos) if the person is speaking naturally and using their own words.<\/p>\n

Add some videos to your website as part of your Internet marketing strategy and see how your target audience reacts!<\/p>\n
